More formally known as the Siberian Forest Cat, Siberians are steadily gaining popularity among cat lovers the world over. This medium to large cat exists in all coat colors and patterns, and are reputedly still seen in the wild in the taiga forests of Russia, the country where they came from. 

 

This is a strong and hardy cat, powerful, balanced, and a great hunter. Yet the Siberian also has a sweet facial expression. It teaches you some of the things you will gradually learn about your own Siberian cat: they are powerful, muscular, agile, and yes they are still retail their capacity for being good hunters. But the expression on their face is genuine, too. This is one of the sweetest, most loving cats around. The thick fur and general roundness of their overall physique also makes them very cuddly, and they make great lapcats for their adoring owners. 

 

These days, owning to the costs of importation, the relatively recent development of the "modern" Siberian cat pedigree, and the limited number of pedigree stock, this cat is still comparatively rare outside of its mother country. The world is really only starting to get to know this cat, but most can agree that you never regret having one be a part of your life.
